Happy As A Lark .... No this is not how to love a black woman.

Today's Idiom is : Happy As A Lark

No this has nothing to do with How To Love A Black Woman, but intellectual conversation turns me on.

Today, My friend Tavi asked me what does that mean?

Now why, you ask, would Tavi ask me that?

Just like I am, Tavi is just as complicated.

Moving on...

First off, I want to say how hard it is to find meanings of idioms on the Internet. There are books at goenglish.com or at Amazon with the idioms dictionary.

Luckily, I turned to the place I know the best. Wikipedia.org. The best thing since apple pie or Brian McKnight!!

According the the Wiki page:

HAPPY AS A LARK FROM WIKI
http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/happy_as_a_lark

Etymology
Derived from comparison to the seemingly cheerful birdsong of a lark.
Adjective

happy as a lark

   1. (idiomatic) Very happy (sometimes with the extra connotations of being carefree or unaware of grimmer realities).

She's happy as a lark with her ten dollar pay raise, even though the long-term prospects for the business are not good.

Just thought I'd drop a little knowledge here and there. Hope you enjoyed it. On to the rest of the day
