CAUSE: Give teen girls a chance to become young ladies...

I know this is off topic, but it is for a cause that I'm passionate about with the author.

Please support if you can!

Fact: 1 in 3 homeless people in the US are under the age of 18. Homeless youth are up to ten times more likely to have or contract HIV.

Sylvia,

During the month of March, I am challenging you to help a teen girl find a home. I started an initiative that would allow me to provide a home for 8 teen girls who are aging out of foster care. The sole source of income for this homeless prevention project is profits from my book "Thank God for the Shelter - Memoirs of a homeless healer." Frankly, sales are not happening at a rate that will allow me to reach my April 2010 opening.

I need your help! I know that the economy is tight for many, so I have discounted the cost of my e-book to $1. That's right, for 100 pennies, you can help prevent a teen girl from living on the streets.

How can I help?

1. Visit my website http://www.thankgodforthes helter.com and use paypal to pay for your e-book. It will be delivered into your in-box within 24 hrs.
OR-
2. Stop by Northwest Activities Center and leave $1 in an envelope with Versandra Kennebrew intl. on the outside at the reception desk.
OR-
3. Mail $1 to Versandra Kennebrew Intl. 18100 Meyers Rd. Detroit, MI 48235
AND-
4. Forward this message and ask your friends to do the same.

What's in it for me?

1. You will receive a copy of "Thank God for the Shelter" in your in-box within 24-hrs. This homeless advocacy tool will help you learn more about homelessness and how I managed to break the cycle that could have consumed my like so many others who have become chronically homeless.

2. You will feel great knowing that you did something to help a girl who wasn't equipped to help herself.

3. You will have a "life recovery tool" that will help your friends and family members who are in transition focus and move forward to THRIVE and not just survive.

Versandra Kennebrew, author of "Thank God for the Shelter - Memoirs of a homeless healer" is a homeless advocate who has visited shelters and transitional housing facilities across the U.S. teaching life skills and inspiring children and adults to never give up. She was recently portrayed in the play "Unheard Voices - Homeless Monologues." In her memoirs, she lays out a homeless success strategy in 8 easy to read chapters. It is also accompanied by a 90-Day Journal and 2-disc audio book.
