It's Time to DO SOMETHING About The State of Marriage In Our Area!   Dear Friends, Many of you are aware of the issues we face as we work to improve the state of marriage and family life in our nation. Studies from 2007 show that the divorce ratio compared to marriage in Wayne County, Michigan alone is a whopping 76%. To make matters worse, the federal grant funding that has allowed the Marriage Resource Center to provide valuable services to youth, singles, and families in our area are scheduled to run out in October of this year. As a board member for the last four years, I was compelled to act. When asked, I accepted the challenge to serve as the chairperson of the 1st Annual Walkathon for Marriage & Family hosted by The Marriage Resource Center on the beautiful downtown Detroit RiverWalk. Please review the link below as quickly as possible and register at whichever level of participation works best for you. If possible, I am asking each of my friends to participate by walking, serving as a captain who organizes other walkers, a corporate sponsor, or making a donation. If you have relationships with those who are willing to serve as corporate sponsors, PLEASE, let me know and I'll be happy to forward them the information on corporate sponsorship. For my friends who do not live in southeast Michigan, please consider making a donation. All proceeds will go to providing singles and couples with the tools necessary to strengthen our most vital institution - the family.
