Ask Ms. Aleta
 question mark
Every month, Ms. Aleta will be answering your questions about adolescents, marriage or family.

This month's question:
What do you consider infidelity in a marriage?

Answer:
The commitment needed in a marriage is for both parties to be faithful to each other.  However, there is an ever increasing number of couples who experience infidelity in a marriage.  And it's not just an extramarital affair that is considered infidelity.  Here are other topics of concern:

  • Emotional infidelity where one spouse forms a strong emotional bond with another outside the marriage.
  • Online infidelity where a spouse forms a relationship or friendship with someone via the Internet.
  • Pornography where there is an addiction and the partner spends more time with that then their spouse.

If you have a question for Ms. Aleta, please submit it to  development@mimarriage or aletacurry@comcast.net.

Aleta Curry, MA, is a care pastor at Mt. Zion Church in Clarkston, Michigan.  She is a graduate of WSU and CMU. She is also a Marriage and Family Coach for the Marriage Resource Center.
